Nehalem Falls is one of many waterfalls in the Northwest that are not remarkable enough to warrant their name or status. The Nehalem River intersects a broad, shallow basalt bench and rushes into a trough, dropping only 8 vertical feet next to a fish ladder. When discharge reaches 10,000 cubic feet per second, the falls become more submerged and resemble a rapid more than anything else.
It’s approximately 13 miles (22 minutes) way from Manzanita.
